Hongsheng (Jason) Qiu started his studies of TCM/Traditional Chinese Medicine (massage, acupuncture and materia medica/Chinese herbs) in New Zealand in 2017. Then he came to Canada with his wife and two kids in 2019 and continued his TCM studies in Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CITCM) in Calgary in the same year. He obtained the diploma of “Western Eastern Integrated Orthopedic Massage Program – 2200 hours” in 2021, the diploma of “Acupuncture (4 years)” in 2023 and the diploma of “Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (4 years)” (materia medica/Chinese herbs) in 2023.

In the long run school studies, Jason gradually learnt and practiced the magic and beauty of TCM in treating his patients in the teaching clinic of CITCM, as well as in treating his family members and himself during the past few years. Traditional Acupuncture, Electro-Acupuncture, Motor Point Acupuncture, Navel Acupuncture, Abdominal Acupuncture, Cupping, Tui Na/Chinese Massage, Gua Sha/Scraping, Herbal Prescription/Formula, Bloodletting Therapy, Moxibustion Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, Kinetic Massage, Head and Facial Massage & Gua Sha/Scraping, Ear Massage and Ear Seed Therapy, Foot Reflexology, and Hot Stone Massage are some of the therapeutic methods he applied in the treatments.

As for massage, he worked as a part time massage therapist from May 2017 to January 2019 in New Zealand. After his graduation in the program of “Western Eastern Integrated Orthopedic Massage” in 2021, he had two part time work experiences as a registered massage therapist in Calgary.

In his spare time, Jason likes singing, swimming, doing Qi Gong exercise and exploring new therapies in his spare time. And from time to time, he provides family members and himself with the abovementioned treatments as well.

Worth to mention, Traditional Chinese Medicine is a time-proven Medicine with a history of several thousand years. Based on the continuous inheritance, clinical effectiveness and wide application around the world, “Acupuncture and Moxibustion of Traditional Chinese Medicine” became an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO in November 2010. And according to the World Health Organization 2019 Global Report, Acupuncture has been currently being researched or used in 183 countries. If you want to give it a go with acupuncture and more, Jason will be happy and ready to meet you here in Inside Out Therapies SASKATOON!
