BODYTALK

BodyTalk is a system that acknowledges the communication within the mind and body.  It has a lot to do with understanding the role psychology plays on the health of our bodies.

BodyTalk techniques provide insights to the areas of our bodies that need attention.  What might seem like an obvious problem to is not necessarily the one the body wants to address first.

This is the beauty of BodyTalk.  It respects the body’s own needs and determines its priorities for healing.  Then with the use of a variety of non-invasive techniques, a BodyTalk practitioner can refocus the body’s natural healing response to establish better communication within the body.

Health challenges arise for a variety of reasons.  When a practitioner is trained to look at the whole-person – emotional, physical and environmental influences – the true underlying causes of dis-ease can be revealed.

Every choice and every experience in life has contributed to a person’s current state of health.  Each scar, laugh line and injury has a unique story and a history.  BodyTalk takes into consideration the whole story.  Lifestyle, genetics and history are all drawn upon to establish a personalized approach to healthcare that brings about lasting changes.

BodyTalk recognizes that each system of healthcare and each practitioner have a unique knowledge and skill set.  BodyTalk is designed to integrate all fields of healthcare to create a complete approach to health and well-being.  This includes referring a client onto another healthcare practitioner or field of healthcare when necessary.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING AND AFTER TREATMENT

BodyTalk sessions are easy, safe and comfortable.  They are done with the client fully clothed; there is no need for disrobing.  A BodyTalk session usually lasts between 15 and 45 minutes.  The length of a session is not indicative of the quality of the session or the results that occur as even the simplest sessions can be quite profound.  The body-mind knows just how many changes and corrections it is ready to initiate in any given session and will therefore indicate when the session is complete and may even establish a time to return for a follow-up session.

A BodyTalk practitioner will often begin your session by discussing the client’s health status and other personal issues they may wish to address.  Then, the client will either relax in a chair or on a treatment table while the practitioner, positioned at their side, will gently use their arm in such a manner to establish “yes/no communication,” also called neuromuscular biofeedback, which is similar to applied kinesiology.  By understanding that the body has an inherent knowledge of itself, the BodyTalk Practitioner is able to quickly and easily ask the body what communication circuits have become compromised and in which order these lines of communication need to be re-established for the fastest possible healing process to occur.

A practitioner uses the BodyTalk Protocol Chart to determine the weakened or broken energy circuits in the body-mind complex that are being highlighted by innate healing wisdom.  Once an energy circuit is identified, any additional details that are relevant are determined.  The BodyTalk Practitioner will link these destination points in the sequence indicated, thereby constructing a “formula” that describes the energetic circuit that will be re-established.

Tapping on the body to get it to focus on healing has been used by some indigenous holistic systems, such as yoga, for centuries.  For BodyTalk specifically, practitioners tap over the head (brain), sternum (heart) and navel (gut) in order to assist the client’s body-mind in making changes, storing those changes, then integrating the changes.

For every malfunctioning energy circuit or formula found, the practitioner or the client may hold the corresponding “points” with their hands, in order to help provide focus.  The client may also breathe deeply, as this helps the brain scan the body to locate the imbalances.

The practitioner then lightly taps the top of the client’s head, which stimulates the brain and causes it to initiate corrections to the broken circuits.  This is similar to how the CPU of a computer runs and executes programs.  This tapping activates the brain centres in a way that causes the brain to re-evaluate the body-mind’s state of health and then align the frequencies within the body-mind to match the formula that was created.

The practitioner then taps the client on the sternum to “save” the corrected energy circuit in the heart centre and to share this information with every single cell in the body.  The heart is responsible for communicating the state of the body’s health to the rest of the body through the heart beat.  This means that the body will remember these changes after the session, just like hitting the save button on a document will save changes to the computer hard drive so they can be accessed again later.

Lastly, the practitioner lightly taps the navel to stimulate the digesting and assimilating function of the gut brain, which is frequently referred to as the enteric nervous system.  After the head brain has activated the changes from the formula and the heart brain has stored them, the changes need to be fully taken in and absorbed or “digested” by the gut.  By tapping the navel, it appears that the changes become integrated at a “gut” level, becoming more fully embodied.

Because the body stores the changes made by the brain during the tapping process, this means that every formula or circuit that is corrected builds on the one before.  The body actually remembers the BodyTalk sessions it receives and your healing process will continue with each additional session you have.

There are no contraindications with BodyTalk, as there is no interaction with ongoing therapies, treatments or medications. BodyTalk can be used alone or in combination with other treatment. Safe for all ages, clients have ranged from infants to the elderly.
