Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy in Saskatoon
Few structures have as much influence over the body’s ability to function properly as the brain and spinal cord that make up the central nervous system. And few systems have as much impact on the central nervous system as the craniosacral system — the membranes and fluid that surround, protect and nourish the brain and spinal cord.
Every day your body endures stresses and strains, and your structures work to compensate for them. Unfortunately, these changes often cause body tissues to tighten and distort the craniosacral system, which can then cause tension to form around the brain and spinal cord.
The result is a barrier to the healthy performance of the central nervous system, and potentially every other system it interacts with. Fortunately, such restrictions can be detected and corrected using simple methods of touch. Generally using about 5 grams of pressure (about the weight of a nickel), the CST practitioner uses his or her hands to evaluate the craniosacral system by gently feeling various locations of the body to test for the ease of motion and rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid pulsing around the brain and spinal cord.
Soft touch techniques are then used to release restrictions in any tissues influencing the craniosacral system. By normalizing the environment around the brain and spinal cord, Craniosacral Therapy is able to alleviate a wide variety of dysfunctions and support the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

During a session, you lie comfortably fully clothed while the therapist gently palpates your craniosacral rhythm and works to release restrictions using light touch. CST uses a very gentle, subtle touch that is relaxing and non-invasive. Many clients feel deeply calm and some even drift into light sleep during treatment.
Some people feel relaxed and balanced immediately after a session, while others notice subtle changes over days or weeks. Because CST works on deep, subtle layers, cumulative sessions often bring the most profound and lasting shifts.
The number of sessions depends on your individual condition and goals. Some people experience significant relief after just a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing care over several months. Many clients find that regular sessions help maintain balance, reduce stress, and support overall well-being.
Craniosacral Therapy focuses on the subtle rhythms of the craniosacral system — the membranes and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Unlike typical massage that works on muscles, CST gently tunes into these delicate rhythms to facilitate deep self-healing at a structural and energetic level.
Trauma often manifests as physical tension or restrictions in the craniosacral system. CST creates a safe, nurturing space where these held tensions can be gently released, allowing both body and mind to integrate and heal.
The therapist’s light touch allows the body’s own intelligence to reveal and release tension and blockages. It’s less about force and more about listening and supporting the body’s natural healing process.
While CST is excellent for physical concerns like headaches, chronic pain, or trauma recovery, many clients also experience emotional release and increased mental clarity. The therapy supports the nervous system, which can help process stored emotional trauma gently.
Craniosacral Therapy is safe for people of all ages, including infants and elderly clients. However, your therapist will review your health history to ensure it’s appropriate for you.
