INFANT MASSAGE

Massage Can Benefit Babies In A Variety Of Ways

Infants can benefit from massage therapy in a variety of ways.  Research suggests that infant massage can help babies relax and sleep, positively affect hormones that control stress and reduce crying.  It is also helpful for babies who suffer from colic as well as gas and acid reflux issues.  Some studies even suggest that moderate pressure infant massage might promote growth in premature babies.

Parents are encouraged to be in the room during their baby’s treatment so that the therapist can pass along some easy massage techniques for at-home therapy. It is best to not feed your baby for 45 minutes before a massage appointment to help avoid upset stomach and vomiting.

Always talk to your baby’s doctor before booking an infant massage appointment, especially if your baby has any underlying health issues.
